Material Handling, hands on
The draft Application Recommendation Material Handling describes how material flow through a plant, sources, sinks, tracks, and the conveyors and stations between them, is modelled in AutomationML.
This page lets you try a piece of it rather than read it. Nothing needs to be installed, and what you build can be exported as illustrative AutomationML text. This is a working draft: the recommendation itself is not yet published, and its class library isn’t public yet either, so treat anything you export here as a preview of the shape the model will take, not a conformant file.
Click a chain together, source to sink, and watch the AutomationML model write itself beside it, in plain English and as an instance tree.
This is a first version, one linear chain from source to sink. Branching layouts, using the switches and lifting stations the draft already describes, are a natural next step if this page is useful to the working group.
