How to reach Hochschule Pforzheim for the AutomationML Conference 2026, and where to stay.
Getting to Pforzheim
Pforzheim lies between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart in south-west Germany. The two most convenient airports are Stuttgart (STR), about 50 km away, and Frankfurt (FRA), about 150 km away. Frankfurt offers the widest choice of long-haul and international connections; Stuttgart is much closer to the venue and can be reached either directly or with a connecting flight via Frankfurt. The following options have proven practical.
Arrive at Frankfurt Airport and take the train from the airport’s long-distance station. Two routes work equally well:
- Frankfurt Airport → Karlsruhe, change trains, Karlsruhe → Pforzheim
- Frankfurt Airport → Stuttgart, change trains, Stuttgart → Pforzheim
From Pforzheim main station the hotels and the university are a short walk or a brief taxi ride away.
Fly to Stuttgart, either directly or with a connecting flight via Frankfurt, and continue by train from Stuttgart to Pforzheim — a ride of roughly 30 minutes.

Fly to Stuttgart, either directly or with a connecting flight via Frankfurt, pick up a rental car at Stuttgart Airport and drive to Pforzheim — roughly 30 minutes by motorway.
This option gives you the most flexibility during the two conference days, and parking is easy. The conference takes place during the semester break, so there are plenty of free parking spaces at the university.
