Drive Configurations, hands on
The Application Recommendation Drive Configurations (M-CAD aspects) describes how the mechanical side of a power train is modelled in AutomationML: the motor, any transmissions, the mechanism that turns rotation into the movement you actually want, the load being moved, and the movement itself.
These three pages let you try it rather than read it. Nothing needs to be installed, and everything you build can be downloaded as a conformant AutomationML file that opens directly in the AutomationML Editor.

Application Recommendation: Drive Configurations (M-CAD aspects), AR DRIVE MCAD V1.0.0, April 2020. The download package contains the document, the role and interface class libraries, and the worked examples. Every class name, parameter name, unit and description used on these pages is read from that library; the drawings are taken from the document.
