The current issue 4/2022 of the atp magazin, a recognized german journal about automation technology, contains a contribution worth reading on the AutomationML component model.
Automation components have a lot of different information that is needed or generated in engineering: Technical data, documents, CAD and kinematic models as well as interfaces. Until now, this data has been generated and stored in different systems. The contribution proposes an AutomationML component model in which these data are brought together in a structured way. This component model can be mapped onto the Asset Administration Shell.
