For many years, a lot of the knowledge shared at AutomationML conferences remained primarily within the AutomationML community. We want to change that.
As part of our new AutomationML Conference overview, we have started to make contributions from previous AutomationML conferences openly accessible on the Conference Highlights page.
The goal is not only that people can read and download the content, but also that it can be searched, indexed and discovered by machines. At the same time, this page will become the central information hub for the AutomationML Conference 2026. All relevant information regarding this year’s conference – from the program and organizational details to submissions and, later on, presentation material – will be made available there.
Why does this matter?
Because valuable engineering knowledge should not disappear after a conference. It should remain available to researchers, engineers, tool developers, and increasingly also to machines.
And this is only the beginning
For the AutomationML Conference 2026, we want to take this approach even further:
- Conference submissions – openly accessible online
- Presentation slides – available after the conference
- Presentations – made available via YouTube
- AutomationML examples – published openly for direct use, inspection and reuse
- Machine-accessible content – enabling search, indexing and reuse
Our goal is to make the knowledge and practical examples created around AutomationML accessible well beyond the people who were able to attend a particular conference. After all, openness should not end with the standard itself. It should also extend to the knowledge, examples, discussions and experiences that grow around it.
We have started building this openly accessible conference platform and will continue extending it over the coming weeks.
